FIFA World Cup Dilemma The FIFA World Cup in soccer is coming up fast, and for the first time in my life I struggle to pick a team to root for. Being from Norway I would like to support my own national team, but since we rarely even qualify for the World Cup I usually go for Italy, because the club team I support (Roma) is from there. The problem is that this year Italy did not qualify, which is unheard of! I am sure a lot of American soccer fans are struggling with the same thing I am, seeing as the US did not qualify either. Soccer is growing in the US which is great to see, so I hope that does not lead to people loosing interest. Usually when Italy go out in the World Cup I follow one of the smaller South American sides like Mexico or Paraguay, so maybe I will do the same this year. Zlatan in LA Finally soccer superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made his long awaited move to the Los Angeles Galaxy, and I have to say it has been just as entertaining as I had hoped it would be! If you do not know Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he is one of the most arrogant soccer players in the world, probably one of the most arrogant sportsmen in the world in fact. It is hard to tell if Zlatan's arrogance is a marketing scheme or genuine confidence, but either way everyone either loves him or loves to hate him. When Zlatan announced his going to LA he took out an add in the Los Angeles times simply saying "you're welcome LA", and I think that encapsulates his personality pretty well. Personally I have never liked Zlatan Ibrahimovic that much, but I must say that he is entertaining. (Since this post is late, I decided to write about what I did do for spring break, not what I was planning on doing) This spring break I decided to go to Thailand with my friends, and it was a great time! Me and my friends had been planning to go to Mexico together every spring break since we got to USC, but never ended up going, so instead we decided to go to Thailand. One of my roommates is from Bangkok and knows a lot of people there, so he was supposed to take charge and show us around. Our original plan was to go to Bangkok, then Koh Samui, then Pattaya, but we ended up liking Koh Samui so much that we ditched Pattaya altogether and stayed a few extra nights there. In Bangkok we went to the worlds biggest market and I bought a painting of my favorite soccer player, Francesco Totti.
